Magnificent picture by renowned Magnum photographer René Burri.

For his 80th birthday, swiss-born photographer Burri introduces an impressive selection of pictures, focussing on colour. The retrospective ’Impossible Reminiscences’ published by Phaidon, introduces Burri’s œvre of analogue colour pictures, shot throughout his career and all over the world: Italy, Mexico, Cuba, Russia or the Philippines.

Beautifully composed photographs that focus on space, colour and how these parameters influence each other.

For two weeks he would ride with the merchants during the morning. On this day the vibrant flowers and boatman, arm raised in mid-paddle, combine with the morning light to create the perfect composition.”
